Back today to the 30's dump. More Model T parts, a marble, lots of broken things and doo-dads. Tore off a frozen chunk from the top and happened to see a crotal bell sticking out before I threw it....then two more fell out! My second crotal bell spill at this spot!!
I've never found an embossed milk bottle until I found one here yesterday. Today I found 16...….. (14 of them were from the same dairy but I'm not complaining!). Found some cool soda and beer bottles and other random things.
The Furth-Mcness bottle still had a cap and some orangy sludge inside. Took off the cap to clean it and the foulest smell I have ever experienced came spewing out. The stench floated through the basement and upstairs. Wife not happy. Still stinks, won't go away. But the brown medicine bottle that still had a cork smelled rather pleasant (mentholish) after the Scourge of Furth. (Wife says I'm going to get some strange disease that was thought eradicated in the 30's..)
Still some room left in the mound, but on the south side there appears to be an active critter hole. Figure I'll let him sleep through the winter before bothering him.....
Should probably run my detector over the frozen clods to see if there is bell surprise inside too.
