Because its getting to that point in the season and I may have to put up the gear soon, I'm already thinking about next year and what I may need to make it even better and practical. The last few years I haven't really asked for much for Christmas. I'm still at that point where my family asks me what I would like. The only thing I'm really into is metal detecting. Usually I ask for one big gift which this year is a SEF Butterfly Coil for my E-trac. I already have a nice digger, finds pouch, cover for Etrac. Now I'm just looking for any ideas of some smaller gift ideas. Any help/ideas is appreciated. Plus, we can all use this thread to help each other out, so lets keep it going!

9 volt recharger and 9 volt rechargable batteries for your compadre? More mding gloves? Screen protector for etrac?

Hard to say without knowing what you already have but a few ideas might be a Lesche digger, a bada$$ finds pouch, some new Gray Ghost headphones, a RNB Innovations battery for the Etrac...this list goes on. :D

Knee pads, finds pouch, sunglasses, maybe some flags to mark targets? Some flag several targets then come back and dig them. Probably does let you recover a lot more targets since you don't lose all that time picking up and setting a detector down.

I guess I should be a little more specific on what I have already. I have a good digger, finds pouch, cover for Etrac. Most of your ideas are helpful though an I appreciate your inputs. One question i do have is donthey make a cover for the etracs battery compartment?

Covers would be nice if they are available. I don't know what you have as far as a digger or pin-pointer but Buzz's "Bomb" leather holder for them is a very nice piece of gear. They aren't too expensive either and to me are very much worth the price. Check them out if you haven't already. I got mine last year and it sure makes things easier having both tools right there handy. Anyway, good luck with your wishlist. Christmas will be here before we know it.

Another recommendation would be some GOOD socks for when it's cold, I like Smartwools, try a pair, you'll see what a difference it makes to your comfort.:

I assume you have a pinpointer you like and also are happy with your headphones, I know headphones were mentioned once already.

Haha, thanks for the post. I definitely see where your coming from in regards to keepin the feet warm and dry. I do have a set of Grey Ghost headphones, but i'm trying to get rid of those for a pair of sunray pro golds

I bought a nice backpack that I throw all my gear (except detector) and can carry it easily to and from the house/car. It's a good size to throw on my back in the woods too. I don't obviously use it in the park or private property. It's from armynavydeals.com. Lots of storage. I even keep my research binder in there. That came in handy today as I saw a farmer in the field that I've been eyeing. I pulled out my papers for that property including his name, address, year the home was built, printed overlay map of school from 1800's in his field, etc. Got permission too :)

This is a great thread with some great ideas. I've created my "Santa's List" for my wife to share with family who want to get me something for Christmas based on this thread. So thanks!

And Ohio Digger, talk about being prepared! Awesome. Congrats on getting permission. Nice work.

A Sling for the E-trac would be a nice gift.
Getting a Sun Ray X-1 PP'er that'd be extra special.

Lots of accessories to choose from.
Not much available under a $100 though.
