I was exploring the woods this past week and I stumbled upon some broken art deco era sodas. I figured it'd be a good place to dig around. Sure enough, bottles were lying beneath. Here's a couple of the nicer finds so far. A local 1920's or 30's milk, Valley City Dairy, Grand Rapids MI. Also, a beautiful green, applied top, 1890's Gargling Oil bottle, Lockport NY. I also eyeballed a Buffalo nickel in the dump. Thanks for looking.

Picking some winners , That green bottle should be worth a few bucks !
Congrats , ,,,,,HH

Nice digs! Especially the emerald green Merchant's Gargling Oil. I once found one just like it with the label still attached under the crawl space of an 1860s house. I was able to separate what was left of the label to preserve it.

Nice! I think it's ironic that it was called Gargling Oil, but was meant for external use only.

The dump produced a couple of keepers today. Folgers 45 Years on Broadway Grand Rapids Mich. It's not the coffee company, but a local bottling company. The company got their start in 1865, which dates the bottle to 1910.
