Found my first platinum item - an earring but alas, made of a platinum alloy (585). Still, better than the crap I have been finding :no:

It looks golden on the picture. Are you sure it is not 14K gold, rated on the Eurpean fineness scale (0.585 = 14 Karats)?
 
I believe Rudy is correct on it. Platinum is silver colored. Good find, Steve in so az

Oh great there are two scales for gold :roll: Could go either way I guess :?: There are some silver streaks on it also - I'll have to try and get a front angle shot. Either way it is very light so not much in melt value, but again, better than the junk I have been finding, which includes 11 buttons (from the 50's?) found at a volleyball court. Only me :(
