Digging in the dirt with your hand can be hazardous. I had a piece of 3/4 in PVC left over from a project and I glued earth magnets into one end. Now I can easily pick up metal without cutting my hands and wasting time handling bottle caps. Just take them off and put them in my trash pouch. Saves the back too! :yes:

Nice idea. But it could affect the way your machine works if you place it too close to it. Look at a electric watch's hands, when it too close to a magnet. (:-O) The magnet's magnet fields do affect the circuits. I have a pair of Kevlar gloves that help reduce the cutting hazards. They are bulky to use.
