I decided to hit two well-pounded sites with my Nox and CZ-5. Yesterday the Nox 600 helped me unearth a 1911 Barber Dime, a Buffalo Nickel, an Indian Head Penny, and a Wheat Penny. I found the Buffalo Nickel right after I switched from Park 1 to Park 2. That program is hotter on low conductors.

Today I took my newly acquired mint CZ-5 out for its maiden voyage. My battle plan was to dig all deep nickels and high conductors targets above zinc and screw caps. How the heck so many broken off beaver tails can get down to around 6 inches or so is beyond me. I didn't find one frigging nickel! All the trash targets right of the 2 nails were found by the CZ-5.

Finally, I get a good audio response in the high coin range. I circled the target and then hit the pinpoint button and it said it was around 7 inches deep. I dug a plug and unearthed a thin 1907 Barber Dime. It must have been on edge because this site has been pounded to death by scores of detectorists hundreds of times. I dug another super deep coin, but I can't figure out what it is.

I don't know about the CZ-5 being a nickel hound, but I know one thing for sure, it will bang the hell out of deep silver and other high conductor targets.

Thanks, Everyone! I'm taking a few days off from detecting to get a haircut and do a few things to get ready for Christmas.

Merry Christmas!
