Went on a little relic hunt around charleston sc last week and made a few good finds at a confederate campsite. Gotta love those sharps! Also got a bunch of nice coin buttons. The half reale from 1737 or 1787 is my dads from the same site. Very jealous!

Sweet finds! I grew up in SC, and lived in Charleston for a few years before moving to VA. Never got a chance to metal detect anywhere but the beach. I'm planning a Charleston trip at some point soon myself. Maybe visit some friends and bring the detector along. HH

I moved here to Chattanooga,TN from Myrtle Beach, SC! I know Charleston very well.

The beach isn't too bad, but isle of palms would be best. Not too many people on Sullivan's to drop jewelry, and even though I did find a nice silver ring, it was probably a needle in a haystack!

Not sure if you heard, but a forum member on here found a grave with 19 Union soldiers on Folly Beach in the late 80s. And had the chance to attend the reburial in Beufort National Cemetery in SC. Check this out.

Yeah that's Moultrietavern1862 right? That's such an amazing story!! I was privileged to be down on the 150th of battery Wagner, they had a lot going on down there! He has an outstanding collection too!
