This story reminds me of a chap I knew some years back. He worked for a
local company who repaired and serviced Omega watches. That had a lot
sent to them from Harrods in London.

Sometimes they would get watches from Jewellers which were not genuine
Omegas, but not actually fakes.
They were Omega watches, but with Tissot movements. They always
returned these unrepaired.

think this will be you right now Ima That watch is a real looker too, hope you get the thumbs up on it. If not, it's still a quality watch to have lasted that long and still work. If it has been in the water for sometime and it came out looking like that I'd be more inclined to go for it being real.

I am proud to say everything is spot on real. I have not taken it to a specialist but if it is a fake it is perfect in every way including the gold. I have been looking for the owner but no luck on that. Craigslist in Georgia has no listing either. Guess someone does not want their wife knowing they lost it. OR they have so much money they just go get another one. Hopefully I will find his new watch some day too. It is possible it is a real old drop. That beach I hunted is eroded bad now, all targets were really crusty if you look at the photos. My buddy Mike told me nobody finds much on that beach due to the sand being thick. I hunted it last year and found squat.

That watch is built like a tank. It is over 15 years old but looks great. Not a scratch on the lens. I learned they are sapphire, second in hardness to diamonds. Glad I found it, I would never buy one though but intend to keep it and wear it during special times.

Ima, your talking about the difference between $60 and $6000. I'd want to know for sure. I was pretty convinced myself until I took it to someone who knew alot more than I about Rolex watches (which was very little at the time). Had I not, I'd still be thinking I had the real deal. Taking it to a licensed dealer with their understanding of how it came into your possession would be your best bet of verifying it's authenticity especially if your attempting to return it to its owner. If it's real, they might be able to help you with that as well.
