I think that goes for a lot of us. It's frightening when you add it all up.

Then that goes for lots of hobbies. People spend a fortune on photography, and sports equipment.

Ive got a little coin in my equipment.... not to mention repair costs. But i KNOW everything has paid for its self... many many times over. However.... consider the dirt digger i was one for many years. We rarely sold anything we found relic or old coin wise so most of our equipment was paid for from CHANGE.... think about that. For water hunting ive always said... buy the best you can afford. This isnt a cheap hobby... but neither is golf. Not a lot of money coming back there unless you are good and the other 3 like to gamble and loose their money. Im as bad as anyone to complain about repair costs.... id be like a cat who got his tail stepped on if i was still dirt digging.

Less than i would like to spend on it, and way more than the wife knows about.

This is very true. I am in the process of building the motor in my truck (hoping for 700 rwhp) and my transmission to support the power and the 1500+ ft/lbs of torque set me back $6000 for full billet everything (thankfully he had military discount) and I still have a ways to go. Compound turbos $5000+, Fuel mods $3000+, leveling kit rims and tires $1700. I need cheaper hobbies lol
