I had a couple of hours to kill so I went to a site close to home. This site has given up 2 cent pieces, shield nickels,a US plate, few silvers and a couple of dozen indian pennys.I have pounded this place for over 3 years and it keeps on giving.I ended my frozen finger hunt with a toasted indian and what I believe a civil war era heart heel plate. It is smaller than I imagined and am far from being an expert so any input would be helpful

I had read somewhere that the prostitutes that followed the armies would wear these, and the heel plate would leave heart shaped impressions in the dirt so the soldiers could follow it to them to the after hours houses. Don't know if that's true but was a good story

That has to be the creepiest shoe I have ever seen! The heart heel plate can't compensate!
