Found these two items across a stream from a Maine colonial fort. This fort had mortars, guns, etc for French/Indian defense then was also occupied during the Revolution. Musket ball 0.4" diameter. The fragment was on the surface just partially buried, 4-6" diameter estimate. Could this be a mortar fragment?
