It was a metal detecting opportunity made in heaven when Ron and I were asked to search the immense yard of a country home for a "whopping big gold nugget believed lost there.
Sadly we were overtaken by rain and nightfall and the nugget remains the much anticipated target for a future search.
It wasn't a total loss though because I did dig one of my favorite finds, in this case a well aged Tootsie Toy wrecker.
Although the words "Tootsie Toy" does appear on the underside of the toy there is no series number or date.
Our thanks to the kind lady who allowed us to search her interesting property, and thanks to the child who lost their Tootsie Toy wrecker many years ago.

Love the wrecker !!

I found my first tootsie toy car the other day..
missing 3 tires, smashed windshield, corroded paint.. but had a lot of charm to it.. sort of like an old Galaxy 500 I once had... Only it was a Jaguar.

Sits in the Junk bowl in the kitchen now instead of 6 feet.. I mean six inches under now.. I bet it prefers the junk bowl.
