Took the time to tumble some coins that I had found in the Guadalupe River last week. I found a couple of wheat cents and this V nickel that I believe is from the 1800's. I had no idea that this was in the mix so was pleasantly surprised. Definitely the oldest coin FTY and from the river.

Great find!!!...pretty toasted but from zooming in on your pic it does look to be 1800s but I can't make out all the numbers.

About 12 years ago while camping on the Guadalupe just below Canyon dam we saw 2 guys running a gold dredge in the river searching for coins and jewelry. I was really curious as to what they were finding but never got a chance to talk to them. I bet they found some beer cans to go along with their other finds. That is an old nickel find for the Guadalupe
