Nice finds indeed. I would be so stoked to be able to pull something up almost 500 years old. Especially a coin of some sort. You people on that side of the planet have it made for metal detecting and historical finds. Very cool.
 
Great stuff. How did you straighten the sixpence? Did you heat it up?

Doug,

Pan of boiling water on the cooker and two pieces of flat wood applying very, and I mean very gentle pressure when removed from the pan.

Not recommended for very valuable coins.....:D

I can only imagine what your "war room" must look like:yes:

Not a lot in it I'm afraid, all I keep is coin weights and trade weights the very fabric of society is built on weights and measures.

Coin weights we will never see again and trade weights the same?
