The foliage here is still a bit thick but I managed to get back into the woods a while today. Didn’t find anything stellar detecting but I managed to grab a few bottles.

The two soda bottles are 8 and 9 inches tall. The clear one is Virginia Dare which I have never heard of. It was bottled in a town not 15 minutes from where the bottle was. It has a 65 on the bottom so I am not sure if that is the year? The other bottle is an old Dr Pepper bottle. The only number I can make out on the bottom looks like a 59.

The 2 smaller bottles are 3 and 4.5 inches tall. The small bottle has a weird neck like it might have have a cap that snapped on and off. There are no markings on it, just a little symbol at the top that looks like an upward arrow. I think the taller bottle was definitely a corker. It is flat on the back and the front corners are cut. It only has the numbers 5 2706 on it.

Small one looks like an aspirin bottle. There would be a rubber cap with a tab sticking out that you would push up on to open. Nice finds.

Virginia Dare was supposedly the first English child born in North America.

I also had never heard of the brand until I dug a fat, squat 12” ACL over 40 years ago when I was a teen. Looks like these styles of enameled bottles were used into the 1970’s.
Nice one for the collection!

I find embossed dr pepper bottles in the creek that says 10 2 and 4.

I've seen many Virginia Dare embossed wine bottles but never that ACL soda bottle. With that embossing and paint I'd say it's 40s-50s. The style of the lettering is the same as the wines so most likely related. That other taller bottle next to the "aspirin" bottle looks like either an extract or household product. Yes the Dr Pepper looks like 1959 era styling.

Yes I can't wait for the vegetation to start dying back so stuff can be found in the wild again. My favorite time of the year for bottle hunting is after the winter snows melt and beginning of May when the weeds start to get thick.

Thanks for looking at the bottles. I figured the smaller one was just an aspirin bottle. The soda bottles are cool. The Dr Pepper bottle is very crude looking. Uneven bottom and bubbles in it. Looks much like the bottle I gave you. The Virginia Dare bottle definitely has the cool 50’s vibe to it.

I actually found both soda bottles very near each other under some pines where there was very little vegetation growing. I still managed to wonder through plenty of those little sticky burrs and had them all over me and my gear by the time I was done.

The Virginia Dare soda acls seem to be local to the PGH area. I’ve got an Indiana Pa like yours, and two larger 1 liter I think bottles from New Kensington. Very cool

Yes, it says bottled in New Kensington which surprised me. Cool that you have a larger bottle. seems like the bigger ones always are broken when I find them.

The Virginia Dare appears to be headquartered out of Brooklyn NY. Book shows 1962 so that may well be the year on yours. My book shows one out of Charleston SC, with a blue on White label. Size 10 oz, 10 5/8" h

Here’s one I believe from 1939.
