Hi, i thought i would share a very successful example of a nickel i cleaned. At first, it was completely black and nothing on the coin was legible. After cleaning, it’s clearly a 1905 V nickel. The method i used was shared by another forum member (unfortunately i forget who it was, but thank you) and is as follows : soak the nickel in barkeepers friend cleaning solution for a few hours, then use steel wool and scrub the coin. This took me about 2 hours, and i could’ve made it a lot cleaner if i kept going, but there’s a clear improvement. Thanks for reading
