Library of Congress maps

Don't forget the Library of Congress, which has a huge collection of digitized maps.

Once there, type your town or state into the search box.

Very good links here! While looking for a new house, i ended up doing some research on cobblestone construction... which led me to finding the history of cobblestone houses, blacksmiths and taverns in my area. Most are still standing... Cant wait til ground thaws!!!!

Boston Public Library

And, at the Boston Public Library, is the Norman B. Leventhal Map collection, with a lot of digitized maps from all over. They recently re-designed the user interface to this collection and it is not as easy to find stuff as it used to be.
