Detectorpro Pistol Probe owners - gold question

Got my answer from Gary at DetectorPro....

"If you are looking for flakes and real tiny nuggets no. It was not designed for that. Gold jewelry it will pick up real well. Gold in the raw is very difficult. Thats why there are special metal detectors designed for gold nuggets. Most regular detectors would not pick up the nuggets he is trying to find. The PP will pick up bigger nuggets."

Since I wan't be expecting to find flour gold or tiny nuggets with my detector, I may go ahead and get one of these.

What really got me interested was the testing done by Silver Hawk in this thread:

and this video I found on YouTube testing the Pistol Probe vs the Garrett:

The Pistol Probe smokes just about everything on the market for depth. I use it in tandem with a cleansweep coil - the cleansweep goes down up to 5" which is pretty close to what the probe can handle. It makes all of my recoveries while using the two items very, very fast.

When recovering deeper targets that the probe cannot locate, I typically cut a 3.5 to 4 inch deep plug. I scan the plug and, if it is not there, I scan the hole. Once you lift a deep plug out, it is exceedingly rare that you don't have direct guidance to a target.

I am really happy with mine. I am coming up on two months of use and I absolutely dread the idea of losing it.
