1957 1/2 D South African Coin

So I went to help my brother in law cut down a few trees in his yard this morning,a nd took along the metal detector to swing a bit while we were cooling down. I spent about 20 minutes searching, and found 2 lincoln cents, 2 wheat pennies, and this 1957 1/2 D Coin from South Africa. It has a hole in it leading me to believe that it may have been worn on a necklace at one time. I also got the go-ahead to come back any time with the detector, which I will given the activity in that short time frame.

I found a 1956 Afrikan the same way, and also a 1955 Canadian. Wonder what's up with that?

Cool finds. Maybe someone had a charm bracelet made with all foreign coins and you've found some of them. Go back and keep looking, there could be more. Good luck : )

I'm near Jamestown... thought it odd to find a South African coin/charm, but I suppose you never know what you'll find in the ground, and that's why we do what we do.
