Do you have any National organizations in the States ?
As some of you may know, in the UK we have two, FID and NCMD. The advantage of being a member of one of these, is that you get Public Liability Insurance. This is always a handy thing to have, just in case, although I don't know anyone who has ever had a claim made against them.
They can also act as a mouthpiece for detectorists in general.
Many rallies insist you belong to one of these organizations, before you are allowed on site.
