...it be too much for him to go with a Minelab Safari?

He's looking to finally upgrade from his 1260 Fisher after 30 years, to get more info, but he is resistance to bells and whistles.

How fast it the Safari in dry sand?

He mainly hunts saltwater beaches on vacation. Thanks.
 
Safari is a excellent machine.All the nice tones and best discrimination from Minelab,not too heavy and very much turn on and go machine.Just a great coin getter,and not to shabby on gold either with the single digit readout ,makes it easier to tell gold for me at least.
And not to step on any toes here,But I've run the explorer se pro quit a bit.And I've run the safari the same amount of time.My uneducated guess is the safari is much faster,and doesn't get hung up in that deep iron null ,not like the explorer..I know everything you read says the explorer is supposed to be the better machine out of the two,but that's just not my experience.
