Part of a ?

Well I found these in different towns last year. And one like it was also posted here on the forum web site,
( can't find it now)
My thought is that they are from a candle stick holder, or the ends if a curtain rod, or a handle of a old kitchen stove flu?
Brass and quite ornate.

They both have a flat spot to where they attached to something.
