Anybody in NH please chime in.

I was in NH for a bit working and managed to get in a few hunts.

The first was at White Park in Concord, it opened in 1884.

The second was at Rollins Park in Concord, age unknown but on 1927 road map.

The third was at Stark Park in Manchester, opened in 1893.

I spent roughly two hours at each and came away with 1 wheat penny, 2 Lincolns, a clad dime and clad quarter :?: The only signals were pull tabs and there were not many of those!

If I spent that much time at the parks in RI, I'd have double digits wheats and a silver or two. I don't know how there are no coins in three "urban" parks. Anybody have any experience with these parks? Not that it matters now as I"m home but I'll be working there again next summer.

Just a guess but does someone else with a MD live near them? Not to say any parks are hunted out but some may be pillaged pretty well already.

Sure, but even places I know that have been pounded for decades by countless people still produce clad. I'm talking about 5 coins total in 6 hours, it's hard to explain...

It's hard to say why, but I have very little success on the road myself.
When I travelled for my previous job, I took a detector along and found very little in other states.
I can count on one hand the number of silver coins I have found outside Wisconsin:no:

that's because I live in New Hampshire! Haha

Sorry I couldn't resist!

Yeah, there is a lot of competition here in NH. Even the private property permissions I have give up very few silver coins. In fact, I have dug more old coppers than silver coins in the last 4 years. Either this state was a detecting free for all back in the 80s, or maybe our rapidly changing winter ground conditions push the good stuff out of reach....who knows?

I'm sure it's there... certain spots may hold some oldies still. I know one of my buddies hit a park this year, and found 5 barber dimes all next to each other but not in the same plug. Spend 6 hours at one park and maybe your results will be better. HH!

Come hunt my parks, you'll come back empty handed, you east coast guys have NO IDEA how lucky you are, believe me...You guys would quit if you hunted my town, unless you like clad...

I hear ya Nectar. Every time I see stuff from our friends across the pond I think, "man, it must be nice to have that much history to hunt!" And then I realize that's how much of the country feels about us here on the east coast.

Just to make you drool a little, the city I live in was founded in 1642...not that there is much of it left that isn't paved but still.
