Chipped this tiny button out of frozen ground

Got out briefly today and found this button. I'm stumped as to it's age and origin. It's half the size of any I've dug.

Nice find! Great perseverance, digging it out of frozen ground -- and not damaging it!

What is the material its made of?

If it is pewter (lead-like) it could be early/mid-1700's!

It seems to be copper. It may have had silver plating or wash on it.

Perhaps it is like the head of a rivet, from jeans?
Welcome to the "chipping it out of the frozen ground club"
 
That looks very similar to a button I dug up a couple of weeks back which was manufactured by Wadhams & Co
