Hey Folks, today I got out with my buddy John, and I figured I have to start taking more advantage of these schools being out for the summer. The problem is, basically 90 percent of them how been pounded to death, so I don't bother with most of them anymore . There was a certain section, in this one school I hunted previously, that I have never got to hunting before however. I hunted this portion of the school, and found two silvers, both of the silvers look unusually rough for this area. It almost looks as if they had been in water or something for a long period of time. A 1957 Rosie, that was next to an early 1960s Memorial Penny, and a very toasted looking 1961 Washington Quarter. This quarter, believe it or not, is the first silver quarter from the 1960s, I have ever metal detected. For some reason none of the silver quarters I have ever dug, until this one, were from that decade . I also ended my hunt with five Wheat pennies, all from the 1940s and 1950s. This site isn't very old, it goes back to the 1950s. I usually don't dig a lot of shallow clad, but today I did. There were quite a bit of 12-46, 12-47 shallow quarter signals. And a lot of very sweet sounding deep 1960s and 1970s memorial pennies. I also dug quite a bit of foil and trash too, hoping for gold, but at this point, I doubt this field has any. I also dug a small junk metal cat pin. Now for the next few days we are going to be having some more very warm and humid weather. Yuk ! I don't know the next time I will get out this week. I can't wait till Fall ! Anyway here are the pics, thanks for looking and Happy Hunting Everyone!
