hi guys , i found this coin/medal in aberystyth south wales on the beach, but the coin came from this clay like wall where the sea bashes against it when the tide's in, i was searching there with NO detector and BANG this little coin was shining out from 4inch deep crevice of the clay wall.
so i think it has to have come out the sea lol
Im unsure what it is but i think its made of brass or bronze any info would be great.
It measures from 24mm - 25mm
It doesnt look like a perfect circle coin ( could it be older when we didnt have coin presses )
thanks for your help people :)

I'm thinking button too...or some kind of ornamental embellishment. Doesn't look like a coin. Cool find!

I agree partially, some older buttons had a glued on cap (usually the base was wood) that were just a decorative metal piece. This looks a lot like others I have seen.
