1787 Fugio Cent

Congrats. My best find(circa 1720ish engraved silver pomander) came from a still in use circa 1950 schoolyard. Found colonial coppers and cobs there as well. Must have been an old tavern or homesite previously

Thanks Toasted.....I've dug quite a few Large Cents and a Spanish 2 Reale coin from those older schoolyards. A lot of them had old buildings like you mention long before a school was built, plus many of those schoolyards are on land that was once a farm.

congrats on the fugio

In my 14 years of detecting in connecticut I still have not found one of these. I have been on 3 hunts where my buddies have scored them. 2 in Connecticut and 1 in new hampshire. Still on my bucket list.. Congrats on your great find.

Thanks Ludlow.....don't feel so bad about not finding one in 14 years of detecting. It took me 39 years to get one.
