Winds and tides are starting to change the beaches a bit and opening up some possibilities. Started a 5 hour hunt in an older area and picked up a little knot-style silver ring and a 1942 quarter. Another beach produced two 14K rings and a Tiffany platinum ring. The gold-tone 14K ring was pretty cruddy looking and I thought it was junk until I checked it out at home -- it cleaned up nicely. Great day!

Great hunt B... you should call Mr.Bill and see if he wants to go on a hunt with you ;)

Man... LOVE that plat ring!! What did it ring up under on your MD? My plats came up under a nickel and a copper penny.

The BH300 has 3 tones (low to high) and 3 lights (red - iron, yellow, green). Gold, plat, nickels, poptops, etc. are mid tones with yellow light. Pennies, dimes, quarters are high tones with green light. As with any MD, there are some variations with corrosion, burial depth, etc. It's a pretty straightforward system that works very well.
