I read the story, I wonder how many of them were wheat pennies and copper? Should be half of them approx?

I know plenty of people who would be right at the bank waiting to take the whole group off his hands. Anything pre 1982 - Pre zinc and mostly copper is popular among collectors/penny hoarders.

I know some pretty serious stackers that have "tons" of copper in their hoard.

Somebody here last year posted a story of a guy that had many 55 gallon drums full of copper cents waiting for the day the law changes so he could cash them in to the scrapper.

I have personally sold over 2,000lbs. of copper cents in the last few years.

One buyer didn't want anything under 680lbs. $100 face will fit into a medium flat box and weigh roughly 68lbs. I delivered twice to this guy 10 boxes of copper cents, 680lbs. I got 1.5 cents each for them.

So I handed over $1000 in cents and got $1500 in green Ben Franklins.

This is what you should do if you get one of those red light tickets and then get the ticket in the mail, pay them in pennies or rolled coins
