Ok we just booked our trip this summer were going to Marathon Key. Our house is walking distance to Sombrero Beach. Can anyone tell me if its worth me dragging down my equipment?

Whatever you do make sure you visit "The Stuffed Pig" restaurant for breakfast and a home made key lime pie! Famous awesome place, used to go there yearly!
I've never detected down there but lobster fished yearly and snorkeled tons. If I was going down there now I'd bring my detector for sure!
