Just got back from my successful Deer Camp adventure, 8 point buck that was big in stature but small set of horns. and a wonderful scenic experience under some adverse conditions. So seeing I ran out of time last week I figured I update from last weeks three outings. A week ago today Dew's and his son, Bret came down for a pretty nice dirtchurch outing. We all were blessed with Silver finds. My recoveries included two Merc's, two Rosie's and a Buffalo Nickel from the two sites we hunted. On Monday Air Force Mike joined me at the second site that we hunted the day before. We both had a pretty good day digging. I dug 3 Rosie's and a War Nickel along with 2 Buffalo's. When I got home I only had 2 Rosie's. I must have dropped the third trying to put it in my pocket and did not realize it. Had on heavier gloves because of the cold. On Thursday I went to that park and found a surface Rosie in the last area I hunted before leaving back on Monday. Went a few blocks from that site to try one I had not been to before. While I was getting my stuff out of the truck a women walking her dog stopped a chatted a bit and invited me to hunt her yard. This was unexpected blessing as I had a great day putting six more Silver Coins into the coffers. This includes 3 Merc's, a GW, a Nickel a Rosie. Included in the picture is the reclaimed Rosie I lost on the previous hunt. Also with 13 Wheat's and a Sterling "Pieces" Pendant on the hunt. On my way home I stopped at my old farm permission. I only dug 1 Silver but it was a good one. A 1876cc Seated Dime. It is only my second ever Carson City mint mark coin I ever dug. The first was also from 1876, a Seated Half Dollar. The Silver coins from these outing now have the total for the year at 373. Cold temps and snow are here but I hope some milder weather is still coming our way and I can get out a few more times before the grounds are frozen solid. Trapper
