What is this landmass?

I posted this in the treasure area saying its Blackbeard the pirate's old hindeout as its on Ocracoke island in NC.. But I'm dying to know what this strange rectangle in the marsh is. I can't believe it is a natural formation. If you google map "green island ocracoke nc" you'll see it. Its exactly 200 feet wide by 450 feet long. seems to have an inner and outer ridge. Thoughts?

How did you spot that? Good eye, huh? It took me a long time to see what you were talking about. That is interesting, and sure doesn't appear to be natural. I wonder if there was a lighthouse there at some time?

Good eye. It doesn't look to be natural at all. And with those dimensions, it may have been some sort of stockade or fort of some sort. I have no clue, but hope you find the answer.
