ive been looking for a metal detecor that has a depth of at least 5 feet deep and was thinking on buying the makro new jeohunter 3d, a bit expensive lol...or does anyone know of a cheaper device that can go that deep and for a lower price?? help, dont want to wast $4000 dollars on somthing that might not work and i might get another for cheaper that does the same...any advice?:?:

I'd do a look on youtube for reviews on them..i watched hundreds of them on the at pro before dropping the cash on one.

Not many people want that kind of depth cos not many people want to dig 5ft deep holes...

i would dig something so deep and on youtube their are no videos on it...so no metal detector to detect close to that??

Not too many people want to dig 5', for hobby fun, so not many sales in a specialty market, means a premium price. Think I'd need a on site demonstration, before spending that kind of cash.

so stay away from makro? and im planning on digging on mexico, theirs stories, well real stories about martin toscano and berried his treasures 5 to 6 feet deep and they are caches of gold, so i need something that can detect that deep...going on vacation to mex on december and need to buy one as soon as possible. any recommendations? willing to pay up to $4000

Good lord, if I had a nickel for every time a Hispanic man approached me while I was metal detecting and told me stories about buried treasure in Mexico, I'd no doubt have a lot of nickels.

Another Mexican treasure hunter, huh?

I used to look for my fortune way back in the day...

Anything you buy...even if it does work and can get you to the depth you want, will have some sort of learning curve and probably a steep one so basically you are wasting your time because it is what, about a month away?
You have to buy one and practice with it get good with it and that will probably take more time than you have.

If you are looking for a turn on and go machine that will just tell you in plain words or pictures that you are standing over treasure then that is just a dream..but then you seem to be the dreamer type.
Then again, stranger things can happen...

at 4 grand it seems like you could just take a laptop with some expensive attachments and have a nice metal detector. I don't know who makes them or where you would buy them from but if thats your cup of tea.. Something so niche like that may only be sold to an archaeologist or some mining company.

Anyway if your wanting to get into the hobby to do it often and have some fun then get yourself a nice detector .. since you have 4k to spend a ctx 3030 minelab comes to mind :D

better yet try a detector out before you drop that much money on one.

However if you hoping to find treasure on 1 outing then you may just give up and end up having an expensive paperweight.

5 to 6 feet aint so bad to dig and yes I got what I need to dig. I heard the garret 2500 treasure hound had depths at about 5 feet, any good reviews for the garret 2500?
