Yes, it has some kind of counter stamp which was a bit of a downer, but I was still thrilled to dig it! Do you happen to know of any sites that track stamps and who might have made them?

Awesome hibernia copper! I think the counter stamp makes it a better find! More unique, the site you found it could hold some early silver too! Congrats and HH!

I wouldn't call that counterstamp a "downer" by any stretch. it could be really rare! Congrats on the unique coin! It's also Irish.

Thanks Isaac! A couple people have mentioned the counterstamp isnt really as bad thing, so I'm feeling better about the stamp.

That's awesome.
Looks like it was down a good clip too looking at your hole.
Good ol south jersey cornfields. They sure make it easy to detect and dig as opposed to briar patches and huckleberry.:lol:
