About half way through a box I found this. It seems someone was more concerned about marking the obverse than they were checking the reverse for lack of marking

I'm assuming you're talking about the "no FG" on the reverse. I think there are 3 different die states for that one, which you can figure out with the serifs on the "1" on the front.

You could remove the marker on the obverse if you plan on keeping this one as an example.
