Just for fun does anyone ever get rolls of pennies, quarters, or dimes from the bank to see what they can find? If so how often do you find a wheat or silver? Just thought this might be something interesting to do on those rainy days.

They call it "coin roll hunting" or CRH for short. Seems like some people on here do it fairly regularly, good winter hobby for when the ground is frozen....

I got back in change the other day a 1945-S war nickel. Put it in my collection jar. Usually if you get collectible coins these days, they are usually from a burglary and the thief can quickly dispose of the loot by cashing it in at face value. They don't care much about value, just spending quality.
Sometimes it's kids taking their Dad's coins and spending them at the local stop-n-rob for a pop or junk food.

Karl von Mueller used to call it Kitchen Table Coinshooting.

(Well, he spelled it koinshooting, but that was just Karl).
