Ok, so the title might be a little misleading... or irrelevant, but I've been delving deeper into CRH'ing since my MD time has been cut by 3 children and a full time job, but I still get out a few times a month. Anyways, I go through about a 60 dollar budget that keeps getting circulated through, and there are 4 banks right next to where I work. To date, in a month's time, I have found...

1 - 1943P Jefferson Wartime Nickel.

1 - 1935 Mercury Dime

1 - 1959D Silver Dime

8 - Wheat Pennies, ranging from 1940 - 1958.

3 - Canadian Cents, including a 1940 worth a little more than face value.

Why I posted in WTV?

Is because I wanted to know if anyone could see the date on the 1943... does it look like it might have the 3 over 2 misstrike? If so, how much would I be looking at for it at the quality it has?

Approximately how many rolls of nickels and dimes did you have to go through to get those silver coins?

The nickel was my 3rd roll ever. The merc was my 5th roll ever and my 59 silver dime was my 7th roll. I hit up about 4 different banks. The nickels were in plastic wrapped Brinks rolls and the dimes were in paper rolls. I usually do pennies to pass time and try to get a full set... found this one today, but it was somewhere around my 60th roll.

That merc is a great CRH find!! Wife brought home a '64 dime from where she works yesterday. Got her a star for the day:D

sweet find. for the small amount you go through, you are doing very well. I have only ever found 1 merc. I have over 40 war nickels, but that is after going through hundreds of boxes of nickels. Steel pennies are unheard of in rolls around here because all the machines have a magnet that catches all magnetic items before they enter the coin counter. I'm sure the tellers get plenty, but unless a teller physically checks it and throws it into the bag, they don't get rolled into rolls. Super nice find there.

By the way.... Whats the value is the place you are supposed to post CRH finds.
Congrats on all those goodies.

Ok, I'm glad I posted in the correct are to begin with then, :) As for the Steel Cent, it was found from a roll at this small country bank. I'm pretty sure they handroll them, but it seems that they either didn't pay attention or didn't care it was in there. Still, my gain, :D And I know from what I read that I've gotten extremely lucky to get such good finds with a minimal amount spent. This next payday, I'm surprising the wifey with her first box of nickels. But, I do have a question... The Steel Cent, does it look reprocessed? I'm never really looking for that kind of issue with most coins, and I read up on it, but I still can't decide if it was original or reprocessed. Either way, it helps complete my Cent folder, so numismatic value isn't too much a concern.
