Greetings from Holland:

I found this ring the other day in a park in The Hague, where I'm currently living. At first I thought it was a modern junker, but after giving it a second look, it seems like it could be older. Any thoughts on the period? It comes up as a 24 on my Minelab XTerra 305, which is consistent with the bronze coins I've been digging. It has a nice shiny patina on it that doesn't really show up in the photos. The thing that makes me think it might be older is how non-uniform it is. I've found coins from the early 1800s in the same park for reference.

Thanks for looking.

In the second pic, I see a seam, from being resized. That indicates it had significant value to someone. Looks like an oldy, but can't help you beyond that. No markings inside? Nice find.

Thank you for the feedback, Foragist. No markings on the inside, but you're right: there's definitely a seam. Not sure why someone would go to the trouble of resizing a brass or bronze ring. Thanks for giving it a look.
