1800s Find help

Can someone help me id this find. It was found on a farm from the 1800s. It was buried about 4 inches down right next to a piece of iron with the date 1878 on it. Thanks for the help.

Hmmm - looks like a brooch to me. Any fixations on the back?

Kinda hard to tell the size without something of size comparison.

The little bar next to it was attached to the back, it fell off while recovering.
