Was given permission to search a lot that has recently been cleared in the older section of Amelia Island. Was told it had never been developed but there was plenty of trash to be found.

Dug what appeared to be a smashed can but quickly realized it is a toy car unlike any I’ve ever seen before. About 6 inches long. I was hoping to recover the missing wheels and continued digging all the signals from the hole. No more pieces of it came to the light but a key came out as well.

Also found a railroad spike and a 1937 Wheat Penny.

At home I scrubbed the car looking for a name or identification with no luck. But scrubbing the key revealed the Ford name along with the number 63 stamped on the back. Google reported it is a Model T ignition key and the 63 means it was built between 1919 and 1927. A B on the front means it was made by Briggs.

Congrats on the great finds !

I found a few of those old Model T keys over the years.

Here's a photo I found a while back of what your key would have looked like hanging on it's display at the Ford dealership.
