so after much debate i pulled the trigger and a f2. i was considering a delta 4000 which would have been 222.00 otd. i went with a fisher f2 4" and 8" with package from kellyco. i am freaking pumped. i hope it shows up next week. i think it just might outperform my harbor freight 9 function .

I have been known to have quite a bit of affection for that little guy.
I would start with the 4" coil.
Much easier to learn on with that one, and that coil lives on the bottom of mine.

Some info to get you started and over the learning curve a bit faster.

A must read for new F2 users

thanks digger. i am looking forward to the f2 a major step up from the hf9fmd. now i can try and convince my buddies to come along. digger, i see the vdi numbers you and others have made, but what about brass shells like .223 and .308 what do those read as?

Most all brass is going to come in as a dime signal...like copper...

I like the f2. Nice detector and the extra coil kit package is a great buy.

ITS HERE! freakin sweet. i got it assembled ready to go. did some air tests on a few coins. solid vdi numbers not to jumpy. had to set the sensitivity way down. kellyco send me one of there pinpointers as well as what looks to be a used one. oops ill send them an email and see what they want me to do.

im going to go hunt the back yard as soon as i get home. try and get a few hours under my belt. on a side note do you guys leave the pinpointer on or turn in on every plug?

It'll drive you and others nuts if you leave it on, if it is in a holster it will pick up on keys or coins in your pocket, and sit there and beep away. You turn it off when you are done with it. You might want to consider getting headphones if it didn't come with it.
