Was hunting the complex of sports fields at a local park when I see the groundskeeper heading my direction in a golf cart. I'm ethical in my hunting activities but it makes your heart skip a beat just the same.

But instead of shooing me off, he asks how my machine is working. I say pretty good. He asks if I can help him. I say sure.

Turns out he needs to find the pins that mark the corner of a soccer field. I ask what metal they are made of, and he says he isn't sure, either iron or aluminum, he thinks. I put the machine in all metal mode and they ring like a quarter of all things, about an inch under the dirt. Took about 20 minutes to find all 4, he says it would have taken him hours, and is most grateful.

Always nice to spread the good karma.

Nice lil story Randy... and you're right, simple things like that can really say tons about our hobby.

Awesome Randy ! I would have told him to call you anytime. You will likely never catch a hard time. Who knows, he may even chase your competition out !
