At our club?s monthly meeting this week, there were some books up for auction, which I bought.
One was the 1975 edition of R.S.Yeoman?s ?A guide book of United States coins?

I see that some of the earliest coins were struck for the Sommer Islands (Bermuda). These were known as Hogge money or Hoggies. Circa 1616. Followed by coinage in Massachusetts around 1637.

Has anyone ever found any of this really early 17th century coinage ?

Not yet.... but I am always a day away. (so far)
I have found 4 half penny (Britainia) but no colonial coins :o(
I am looking in all the right places for the opportunity.

I have seen several Spanish reils from other md's...nice old silver!
Still looking :D
