Default What a Lucky day...no gold but...

The tent pikes not shown in the pics because I prefer to return them to the guys in charge of the Umbrellas/Chairs at the beach, and the caps & glass found I just throw that away in the garbage.
The car keys not shown because returned to the owner.
Sorry about the size of the pics! Next time will be smaller.

Went to Miami Beach from 7pm to 9pm to Treasure Hunt on dry sand.
Found a Dollar coin from 2011, quarters, dimes, nickels and cents totaling $3.52
Then 2 tent pikes, the typical tabs/caps/bobby pins and other miscellanea metallic !!!!, a nail, 4 screws, 2 very large and heavy nut & bolt or however they are called, a girl’s headband, a piece of a chair’s or table’s bottom leg, a silver charm from a Tiffany & Co. necklace or bracelet that reads 925 but to me is fake, a heavy ring (copper I assume...the silverplated gone) with 3 diamonds…probably CZ (the stones have a nice sparkle).
But the oddest of all, mainly because was found buried in the beach, was a HORSE SHOE!!!! With its nails and everything.

Also, today was my first time in helping a beach goer to find something he had lost. Three men approached me and asked if I could help them find their car’s key. They showed me the area they’ve been sitting and I traced a grid. In less than 5’ found it. They were soooo happy! They had been 3 hours looking for the key to no avail, and I happened to be their last resort. Maybe that explains when they asked why they didn’t sound totally convinced that I could be of any help? Things are that they wanted to pay me back and I refused, so they wanted to invite me to a restaurant but I passed also. My pay was more than enough with the big thank you hug I received and that joy in their faces. That made my day!

Good job! Sometimes the best things you'll see on the beach aren't in your scoop....

Great story. Can you post pictures? I'd like to see the Tiffany & Co. silver charm and the ring. We love pictures to go with the stories. Good luck on future hunts. : )

Wasn't subscribed to the forum last night and put the pennies to get cleaned in vinegar solution all night. Then cleaned a bit the other coins because don't like handling them being so dirty. Also the ring to figure out what metal and if any inscription, and the Tiffany charm that is not silver .925 nor the real thing. Later will take the pics with everything found yesterday and post them. Thanks to all for being so nice.

Great story, finds and pics Vivsfindings, really liked how you put in a lot of time to help out and find those keys, and also returning those pikes great stuff. Good karma my friend. Congrats on your finds and good luck next hunt.
That charm looks 925 to me, why do you say it's fake?

Great hunting. I hit North Miami twice but have not been back in a while. I am getting my water detector tomorrow if it gets here. Then I will be hitting the water as much as my wife will let me.

I don't do water so don't know. Did see very few beach goers and consequently few people in water in stretch going from 19th to 25th St and certainly a lot in South Beach. Around 25th St the beach is closed another stretch, and huge machines doing some type of work on the beach.
All that stretch mentioned above the dry sand area is narrower with 1/3 of it of compacted sand. People definetely in the towel area. Very little trash compared to South Beach that is a nightmare, and didn't see MD in the water (weekday) and just 1 doing dry sand late in the evening (he would leave large holes everywhere...).
There were a couple of drunk "teens", one of which approached me to tell that has lost his watch at another time around there...that I could keep if I would ever find it...
So well, every place has its pros and cons and you never know.
Remember to take a little music so your wife may indulge listening to it while you get wet
Good luck!

Thank you!
I say that the charm is fake because I have compared it with the one at Tiffany's site. The engraving is off, letters touch when they shouldn't, the character design in the "&" symbol is different, does not have a mark on the back as the real Tiffany does. The silver does not clean well and is a little cloudy. Also, when looked up closely one can see sort of silver flakes that are shinner than the dull silver underneath, and how the perimeter on the back of the charm has lost its shine...and has all those thin scratches. When cleaned...no dark tarnish. Also, the scratches and marks are not the kind that real silver would have. The weight is there, but not the real silver.
