I have a Garrett carrot, someone fill me in on the vibra probe? Maybe considering it for beach hunting etc.

Thanks

I have a 580 and it was good alternative to the Garrett Black for water hunting. Since I bought the carrot I haven't used the 580. When I was going through my gear I thought about selling the 580.
I'm not sure how the carrot works in salt since all my hunting is fresh but that or diving may be the only reason to use the 580 over the carrot.

I've had a 580 a few years now, bought for water hunting as when I bought it, the Garrett carrot was not available. I find it not as sensitive as the Garrett pinpointers and it's a bit on the big side, but those are the only cons. Works well otherwise.

I have one for water hunts. It's length and having the tip-up to turn on/off instead of a switch makes it less than handy, but it does work well.
Also, it's a PI unit, so if your main machine is VLF it will go crazy every time you turn the 580 on.
