Default Bounty Hunter Pin Pointer Review

When I bought my Ace 250 from Amazon, I bought a pin pointer to go with it. I know a lot people like to use the Pro Pin Pointer from Garrett. That pin pointer was over 100 dollars, I think it was around 130 bucks. That was on Amazon as well.

I just went with a bounty hunter pin pointer. This pointer was 40 bucks on amazon. It's not a high tech pointer like the Pro. The only bad thing about the bounty hunter pin pointer is that you have to get the sensitivity knob adjusted just right. The second bad thing about this pointer is that sometimes the battery cover comes off. The third thing is that it only makes one sound. It does not make more higher tone sounds when you point it closer to the object.

However, this pointer will do the job for looking for those tough finds. I will upgrade to a pro pointer. Most likely I will get the Garrett Pro to match my Ace 250!

Here is the pin pointer that I have http://www.amazon.com/Bounty-Hunter-.../dp/B000HATWHK

Wel let me tell you I have the bhpp the harbor freight pp the Garrett and the Sunray and the bouny hunter even if it actually does work, it's the worse of them all. Considering that it costs more than twice the price of the harbor freight I would never buy it. Oh the HF also has better depth than the BH. Actually I am thinking of doing a contest to support another forum and give that pp as the winning price, since I never used it and probably never will. So I am happy you like it but believe me when they all say that it's not that good.

I forgot to mention that as well. The BH PP does not have much depth. It has to be like, I would say 1/4 of an inch close to the object.

To prevent the battery cap from coming off do this. Take off cap and remove battery. Turn the battery upside down. Now turn battery sidewise. Insert battery into cap with narrow side against the tabs of the cap. Press firmly this will be a tight fit but don't shove until something breaks. Snap battery back on to connector and press cap back on. You should never have trouble with cap again.

I have the fisher F-point. If you take it apart and turn the sensitivity up you'll get 3/4" instead of 1/4" on coins. Hey, you'd be surprised how much it makes a difference. Works fine for me for now. I sacrifice a little time vs the garrett but the F2 pinpoints so nicely it's not really used much.
