Hi all. Had a killer hunt today at a 1928 property. 7 silvers and a large cent of some sort. The copper’s got me perplexed.
When I got home, I gently began cleaning the copper just hoping it wasn’t a copper blank. The first sign of ‘coin’ I recognized was a clear outline of a shield on one side. I immediately freaked out thinking I had my first statehood copper(new jersey maybe)? NOPE! More careful cleaning revealed a possible crown above the shield. The other side seemed like a loss because I was looking for ‘plow and a horse’ , but eventually a bearded king’s bust(facing right) revealed itself. No wording is visible, and I don’t want to destroy what’s left of it further cleaning.
I’ve seen some old Scandinavian(Swedish?) coins with a crown above a shield, so I began my search there with no luck.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. This site is the best MD site ever!
