My buddy picked this up at a POW site we've been hunting on and off over the last two years... not sure what it is exactly but it has some sort of insignia on it... any thoughts?

To me that doesn't look like an insignia as much as it does an electrical somethingoranother. Is the "insignia" copper? And the bottom doesn't resemble a "pin" to me from what I can see of it.

The object you have found from a P.O.W. camp could be anything! I doubt however that is a piece of P.O.W. artwork. Very often war prisoners were extremely skilled and their products were sold in the community to buy them extras. During the Napoleonic Wars French prisoners of war imprisoned in England would collect animal bones from whatever source to make wonderful examples of this art format. Many of which are displayed in museums.:oldguy:

What does the other side look like Ace?

I'd agree it isn't insignia that I recognise. Electrical conductor part? Not sure I'm afraid.

Good luck with the site, you've had some good finds from it, so there is more out there yet!

Kind Regards,
Simon
