I am having trouble using my scoop on the beach. I am somewhat older and
using the long handle scoops is creating lower back pains. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Larry, try one of those assist handles that you mount near the scoop. In the water, depending on the depth I will usually also try to get my right leg with helping to kick the scoop up from the handle near the scoop. I'm 54 and I know there will come a time where I can't do that scoop ballet anymore and will have to figure it out.

I agree with Joe..... if you are dry sand hunting look at a lighter smaller scoop.

I use an assist handle that lets me dig one handed without bending over.

It also helps break the ground suction before lifting when digging in wet sand.
