Hi

I'm a complete rookie detectorist in the UK. We are in lockdown at the moment and I can't get out with the detector, but I have been using it in my back garden and have found a lot of old iron junk, and one or two slightly more interesting things.

The detector was a present for my son (10 years old) for Xmas - he's showed some interest, but I think he will be more up for it when the weather improves and we can go further afield.

Any other UK people here?

Welcome! That sounds like a pretty strict lockdown.

No visits to parks at all?

Well be patient and stay well.

What kind of detector are you using?

Thanks.

We are only allowed to leave the house to go to the shops (most of which are closed 🙁), and to do exercise. Not allowed to combine things like metal detecting with walking - they have said that that constitutes ’leisure’ rather than exercise.

Also, even when there’s no lockdown here, you aren’t allowed to metal detect in most parks. It’s a case of getting permission from farmers, or going to the beach. Maybe the rules are less strict where you are🙂👍.
